[dropcap]A[/dropcap]uthor, Charles Truth contacted me regarding his novel “Welcome to the Maze” & I gladly accepted. Its not often I get an opportunity to put a face to a novel, & since this particular story was based on events in Denver, I was even more motivated.

After discussing the story with the author, I wanted to some how incorporate the young man in the story with the concept of navigating through a maze within the city. A metaphor of the daily obstacles young males face today & in this story. I shot the photograph of the male figure on the cover using a Cannon 7D camera. After many different angles and looks, I finally went with this “furry hood-on” photograph to give a sense of the colorado winter.. A stereotype I felt would help “regionalize” the story.[/two_third]
